This is episode seven of Activist #MMT. Today I talk with first year MMT activist, Chris Rini (@valleygeist on Twitter). Chris holds a bachelor's degree in international relations and a master's in public health. What was originally intended to be a discussion about Modern Monetary Theory turned into a sprawling conversation including Marxism, climate change, how teaching MMT is different than piano or martial arts, and the terrible and needless consequences of funding education with local taxes instead of federal dollars. As Chris says, however, it's all MMT. This is because a major goal of MMT is to deemphasize the man-made concept of money and to instead focus on our problems in reality and the real (that is, non-financial) solutions that are needed to address them.

We shouldn't have to beg,
but we do have to beg.
So it's not *that* we beg,
but *who* we beg.
I am choosing to beg you, my listeners, to financially support this show.
